A design competition winning entry, the “Tree House” is a modern, elegant, large and luxurious ‘pad’ for two on the ground level with extensive in and outdoor living spaces to enjoy and share, with the visiting “kids” accommodation wing quite separate on the first floor.
A “C shape” site plan around an existing large Jacaranda tree solved the brief. Conscious of the loss of their private stunning waterfront view we sought to provide an alternative suite of engaging vistas via the built forms, terminating view lines on art focus points, the pool and that big beautiful tree.
This physical and semantic link to the trees shelter and grand kids derived the homes nickname, the “Tree House”. It became an engaging pivot point for the overall design themes of the home as it refined through the extensive detailing phases.
